Coach
I grew up in Severomorsk, Russia, and I’ve been into sports for as long as I can remember. As a teenager, I played basketball alongside gymnastics and powerlifting. But over time, I started losing interest in the traditional gym scene. Too much focus on mirrors and big biceps, and not enough on what your body could actually do.
Then, around 2014, I discovered CrossFit and immediately fell in love with the concept. I got my Level 1 certification in 2015 and was so eager to start coaching that I practically called every CrossFit box in Moscow looking for an opportunity.
What I enjoy most about coaching is helping people become better versions of themselves. Whether someone’s goal is to get stronger, learn a new skill or simply feel better, I want to be the coach they can trust to help them get there.
My favourite movements are ring muscle-ups, thrusters and pull-ups. I might seem a little reserved when you first meet me, but get to know me and you’ll quickly discover my playful side. I also like a bit of structure and attention to detail, especially when it comes to training and nutrition, although I don’t take myself too seriously!
Outside the gym, I live in Haarlem with my wife and our cat. I work as an HR Business Partner and have a rather unusual hobby: building robots. My current project is a working BB-8 from Star Wars, which occasionally makes an appearance on my YouTube channel.
When I’m not coaching, training or building robots, you’ll probably find me playing PlayStation with my wife, travelling, enjoying good food or looking for a decent cup of coffee.
And my favourite coaching quote? “Hips don’t lie.
